Left-back Marc Tierney has committed his future to the club and laughed off rumours of a move to Norwich City.

The Colchester United man has caught the eye with some gut-busting performances this term, with a number of clubs reportedly tracking him. U’s boss Aidy Boothroyd is hopeful of sorting out a new contract for the 24-year-old, who still has 18 months left to run on his current deal and Tierney is confident too.

Speaking to the EADT, the former Shrewsbury player said: ‘The manager has said he would like to offer me a new deal and hopefully that can be resolved quite quickly. I imagine it will be a formality because I’ve really enjoyed my time since I’ve been here.’

And Tierney has ‘categorically’ dismissed talk of a move to rivals Norwich, to link up with former boss Paul Lambert.

‘My girlfriend went shopping the other day and someone asked her if I was going to Norwich! I’d just like to say that I would never in a million years go to Norwich. I can categorically say that!’ he confirmed.

Great stuff, Marc!
