Former assistant manager at Colchester Micky Adams wants to be the new manager of Southampton after Chris Coleman & Glen Hoddle pulled out of the race.

Adams, it is reported from several of today`s papers, would love to make a return to the south coast with the Saints where he was a popular player.

Adams is also well-known in that part of the world following his successful spell with Brighton as boss.

“Obviously, it is a job that would interest me,” he told the media on Friday. “I am available for work.

“I had a fantastic time there as a player and I would very much like to repeat that as a manager.”
