West Bromwich Albian`s youngster Rob Davies once admitted that his favourite player is Jason Koumas. If the 19-year old Welsh midfielder, who is now on trial at Colchester United, has adopted any of his traits then he will be a good player.

Davies will get a chance to impress during the next reserve game against Northampton this afternoon, say BBC Sport, before Geraint Williams decides whether to offer him a permanent deal.

Understandably, the Under-21 international rates the most exciting game of his career as the only one he has played in to date – Davies appeared for Albion in 2006, coming non as a sub against Reading in the FA Cup.

It is widely believed that Davies will form part of the next generation of Wesh stars, and he has been on loan at conference side Kidderminster this season. He singed for West Brom during the 2003/4 season, from Wrexham.
