Colchester United are represented in the latest Football League team of the midweek that has been selected after the recent action.

The performance by Darren Ambrose in the two one victory over Bradford City in midweek at Valley Parade was enough to earn them a place in the side alongside the other most impressive performers in the Football League pyramid.

I think we’ll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Ambrose was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice – the FL blurb read.

‘Ambrose inspired Colchester to a comeback win at Bradford City, bringing a 19-match winless run to an end. A 20th threatened, but the midfielder struck once in each half to give Sky Bet League 1’s bottom club a vital boost in their battle for survival.’

It’s always good to see us represented in this way, and well played to Ambrose for his recognition, but the most important thing about the game was of course the win.
