Stoke City striker Shola Ameobi believes ‘there’s no easy games’, this comes as he and his team-mates prepare to face the already relegated U’s.

The U’s entertain the Premier League hopeful Potters on Saturday, in which is the last ever game at Layer Road. Despite the U’s already knowing their league fate, the on-loan Ameobi is not taking anything for granted.

‘There’s no easy games, they will be playing for pride but we are playing for something far greater,’ he told BBC Radio Stoke.

‘We have to make sure that what we bring is more than what they produce.’

After seeing off fellow promotion-chasers Bristol City last weekend, Stoke go into the game knowing they could seal promotion. If they manage to beat the U’s and Hull fail to beat Crystal Palace, then they will be playing Premiership football next season.

Speaking about last weekend’s win, Ameobi said: ‘It was a perfect end to our preparations for what was a massive game,’ said Ameobi.

‘The boys showed all the determination and belief you need to get into the Premier League.’

Meanwhile Stokes’ two goal hero from that game, Mamady Sidibe is hopeful of being fit to face the U’s. Sidibe picked up an ankle injury during last week’s win.
