Striker Alun Armstrong, who was training with Colchester and made four reserves games for the club, has put pen to water on a deal with Rushdon and Diamonds.

The former Ipswich and Middlesbrough player scored one for the reserves in his six weeks at the club but following Jamie Cureton’s arrival and the continued progerss of Marino Keith, Alun has signed for Rushdon in a three month deal.

Rushdon boss, Barry Hunter told their official site:

‘I am very pleased that we have persuaded Alun to sign for us, despite competition from other clubs. We have some great attacking young players in our squad. Adding a player of Alun’s calibre and experience will help the club to benefit from all of this attacking potential.’
