Colchester`s mid-week reserve draw with Northampton saw Teddy Sheringham, Jamie Guy & Pat Baldwin all put in some impressive showings. The duo could now all be involved in tomorrow`s tie against Burnley.
Forwards Guy and Sheringham both did well, with the former hitting a brace that was assisted by his strike partner and former England man.
“He was given the option of playing in a reserve game this week and said yes he needed to get a game under his belt,” manager Williams told BBC Essex, when asked about Sheringham`s contribution.
Defender Pat Baldwin completed a 75-minute stint, while midfielder Kevin Watson played a full match.
