‘Big Chris’ Backing Stoke

Ex-Colchester United and Stoke City striker Chris Iwelumo is backing The Potters to beat the U’s tomorrow.

In the last ever game at Layer Road, Iwelumo is backing City to get the three points.

Speaking to The Sentinel, he said: ‘Colchester’s season is pretty much over down at the bottom.

‘And, although they are a team capable of scoring goals, I think Stoke should be too powerful for them with their physical presence.

‘Everyone knows it’s a smalI stadium and a narrow pitch to go with it, so it should suit Rory Delap with those long throws of his,’ the Scot continued.

‘Being the last game ever at Layer Road might also take the focus of the Colchester players off the game itself because of the occasion.

‘Last weekend’s result (a 5-1 home defeat to Coventry) shows what kind of frame of mind they are in and also suggests the players have got their holiday head on already.

‘If so, that will be good for Stoke, but I’m sure the Stoke lads won’t be taking that for granted.’

What do you guys think of Iwelumo now? Is he a legend or maligned for leaving?

Don’t hate him like Curo, the difference was: Iwelumo was out of contract so had the option to leave: While Scum (oh i mean Curo) forced a move away saying which club he wanted!
