Aidy Boothroyd has been officially confirmed as Colchester United’s new manager at a lunchtime press conference.
The 38-year-old donned a Blue ‘n’ White U’s tie and spoke about his eagerness to get started. Chairman Robbie Cowling and CEO Steve Bradshaw confirmed the former Watford chief would take up the U’s vacant managerial position. He signs a rolling one-year contract with club, in which Cowling described as a three-year project.
The U’s have been on the lookout for a new boss since Paul Lambert left North Essex a fortnight ago and have named their man.
And Boothroyd, who attended the U’s penalty shoot-out loss to Gillingham last night will take charge of his first U’s game this coming Saturday.
Vital Colchester attended the press conference at the Weston Homes Community Stadium and a full write up will follow later…
Vital U’s would like to welcome Aidy and wish him the best of luck in his time with U’s.
