Colchester have secured the services of youngster Macauley Bonne on a new contract, with him extending his stay at the Weston Homes Community Stadium by another two-years.

This caps a positive week for him as this came a few days after he scored one of the goals in our three-two win over title chasing Bristol City with him telling the Official Website that he is obviously very happy with the new deal.

Having made his breakthrough he’s had ‘a big year’ but isn’t taking anything for granted, he knows he’s got to keep working hard and that’s his aim as he looks to secure himself a regular starting place with a regular run of goals too!

‘It has been a big year for me since I first broke into the first team, and it was good to be back in the starting line-up for the win against Bristol last week.

‘I am hoping to earn a place on a more regular basis in the next couple of years and to keep scoring goals for the team.’

A contract that’s been earned, all being well we’ll see Macauley go on and achieve what he hopes to – the better he does the better we should do too!
