Colchester United`s manager Geraint Williams admitted today that the international break was a welcome distraction from Championship duty.
The Welshman told this evening`s Colchester Gazette that he thinks the boost for those players involved is almost as useful as a rest for those who remained behind.
The U`s have lost the services of four players during the week, with Matthew Connolly (England Under 21`s), Mark Yeates (Ireland ‘B`), Medi Elito (England Under-18) and Bela Balogh (Hungary) and are hopeful that they will return ready for club action.
Ahead of this weekend`s match against Crystal Palace, boss Williams said: “It’s great for the players involved.
“They work very hard and it’s nice for both them and the club. It shows that people come to Colchester United and watch our games.”
