Character Is The Key

Manager Phil Parkinson believes his sides character and determination has been the key to their recent run of three consequtive wins.

After coming from behind against Yeovil and Rotherham in the league and then the 9-1 thumping of Leamington in the Cup spirits are definitely high within the Colchester camp however Parkinson, despite lavishing praise on the team for their form, has warned that nobodies place is guaranteed.

‘I’m very pleased. That’s six away games unbeaten and that isn’t out of luck. There is character in abundance in the squad.

‘And I stress the word squad – there are players who are not in the team at the moment who could easily be in the team and if they got in the team they could stay in the team, because we haven’t got 11 certainties to play.

‘There are 16, 17, maybe 18 players who have got a good claim to be in the team so it’s a squad thing.’
