Having only recently extended his loan spell with Crawley Tom Eastman has now been recalled by Colchester.

Eastman had been a regular in the Crawley side, helping them to the top of league two, although with Matt Heath and Pat Baldwin injured and Magnus Okuonghae suspended John Ward is seriously short of central defenders.

John White and Brian Wilson, who are more recognised as fullbacks, had to be used in central roles against Rochdale and this most likely played its part in them coming back from 2-0 down to draw 2-2, well that and the fact that The U’s played a large slice of the game with only 10-men…

The teenager will be hoping that his recall means that he will be given a chance to stake his claim for a regular place in Colchester’s defence.
