Not one but two former figures of Colchester United folklore, Perry Groves and Steve Lamaq, feature on the BBC`s Fighting Talk this week.
The podcast from Saturday`s show is still available, featuring the usual assortment of jokes and sport-related banter.
Lamaq admits his fledgling football career comprised of some armature refereeing and that his Christmas list would compose of a DVD, if it existed, of the 1992 F.A. Trophy Final between the U`s and Witton Albion.
Groves, inevitably reminiscing on his Arsenal days to a backdrop of the ‘We All Live In A Perry Groves World’ soundtrack, is also on controversially sparkling form, saying: “No one famous ever comes from Colchester!“
The show originally aired on Saturday morning and is still available online, raising United`s profile, until January 2nd 2010.
