Kevin Lisbie, who scored for Colchester United during a trial last Saturday, wants to move to the Championship side full-time. To that end, the club have opened contract talks with the player.
Lisbie is 27 and a Jamaican international and said on Monday in the Colchester Evening Gazette: “I wouldn’t have played for Colchester if I didn’t have an interest in playing for the club so hopefully the manager is interested.”
Today, the same paper has revealed that the forward, who looked to have formed a solid rapport with Clive Platt during the pre-season game in which he scored, will discuss the possibility of making the move a permanent one.
“We’re in discussions with Kevin,” admitted manager Geraint Williams in tonight`s Evening Gazette, saying: “He’s looked sharp and he’s managed to get into some good goalscoring positions.”
