Colchester fitness coach Donough Holohan returns from Spain after a three-day training break with the Colchester squad and explains the benefits.

Holohan told United’s official website: ‘The warm-weather training went really well, it was what was needed.

‘The rationale for it was that it is a long hard season and it takes its toll physically on a footballer with the amount of games they play and the intensity at which they train day in and day out.

‘So it was good to get away, get some sun on their backs and get some recuperation and regeneration.’
