Expectation was high that Colchester would return to winning ways; however Burnley left North Essex on Saturday with a point firmly in their grip.

After Tuesday night’s rare bad performance Colchester returned home to Fortress Layer Road expecting to continue their good run and capture 3 points whilst doing the double over a Burnley side short of confidence and results over the recent weeks.

However in what was a bit of a let down in respect of flowing football the Colchester attack could not break down a resilient Burnley defence, with messers McGreal and Caldwell bossing things at the back.

On the Rare occasion that the leading strike force in the League managed to break through the Clarets back line, a good save from the Burnley Keeper and some poor finishing were to deny the Colchester attackers.

Colchester could not turn their 12 corners into goals and never looked likely of making the break through.

Even the late introduction of Guy and Ephraim, which sparked the home side into life failed to create any clear cut chances.

Final Score 0-0

Shows how well you are doing this season when you complain about a bore draw even if Burnley haven’t been doing so well recently.
Not long now until you visit the Hall.
