Colchester United forward Jamie Guy has confessed in the local media that this season he would like to score more than just the odd goal for Colchester United in the Coca-Cola Championship.
Youngster Guy, who was little more than an impact player in a 2006-7 campaign that saw him emerge countless times from the subs` bench, admitted in the Evening Gazette that he will attempt to “push on” from his previous achievements.
Jamie, 20 today, is a graduate of the U`s prolific youth side and said in the Evening Gazette: “My aim is to start as many games as possible and try and hit double figures.”
Jamie adds that, although his progress has been good during the past year or so, the aim is to keep on striving to do more, which can only be a good attitude and should bear results on the sports field.
He explained: ‘If someone had said I’d have the season I had at the beginning of last season I would have definitely taken it but now I want more.
‘It was frustrating at times being on the bench but the guys in front of me were scoring goals.”
