Sam Corcoran is could be back with Colchester United today following his initial release under now Coventry manager Aidy Boothroyd.
Boothroyd`s successor John Ward offered the 19-year-old midfielder a new year-long contract after discussions with Robbie Cowling yesterday ahead of his confirmed arrival as manager.
“I`ve rung him this morning and offered him another year`s contract, because I think he`s got an opportunity to progress,” Ward said, echoing the thoughts of former boss Paul Lambert, who gave the player a second-team taster as a substitute before leaving at the start of the season just ended to coach Norwich.
Corcoran was then loaned to Wealdstone for a period under Boothroyd before being released.
Ward, though, described the player`s recall as a matter of “differing opinions” between himself and Boothroyd.
He added: “He`s only a first-year boy and we think another year is important for him.”

God stuff, has look pretty impressive in the glimpses I’ve seen from him – was disappointed when he left a few weeks ago. Although he’s only been offered a new deal – nothings signed quite yet!
