Colchester United defender Chris Coyne’s international endeavours are causing a concern for Paul Lambert.
The U’s boss was frustrated to see the U’s club captain make a 14,000 mile round trip, to Japan, where his country Australia played, and not even make the bench.
Despite struggling to hold down a regular place in the U’s starting XI, Coyne, once again, was called up by the Socceroos. Vital Colchester reported this, to read the article click here.
Lambert revealed to the Daily Gazette: ‘It`s a long way to go and just sit on the bench.
‘For the club, it`s not great.
‘But you try and see it from both angles.
‘You try and be diplomatic about it but it`s not ideal for Chris Coyne or for Colchester United.’
So are Coyne’s international commitments helping to number his days at the Weston Homes Community Stadium? Or does he have long-term future with the U’s?

Well, can see him leaving the club in the summer… Up the U’s!
.. I think he will, if he doesn’t get more games. Where to, Australia?
Could well happen, think Gold Coast United were linked with him.
