Coyne Interest From Korea, Oz, China & Middle East

The West Australian say former Luton and current Colchester United skipper, Chris Coyne, has been “inundated” with contract offers.

It seems certain that Coune, 30, will leave Colchester United this summer, although it seems his preferred destination is in Europe, as reported here on Vital Colchester on Monday.

The seven-time capped Australian centre-back has a young family and is mindful of national coach Pim Verbeek`s waning that he thinks A-league soccer is less comparative than the European standard.

Among other offers, Coyne is understood to have been offered a three-year contact at Perth Glory, where his brother Jamie is currently captain.

“If things don`t work out with Perth Glory it won`t be through a lack of effort on their part,” said Coyne, who joined United eighteen months ago for what was then a club-record fee of £350,000.

Fans will probably now have to wait until next week for confirmation on the player`s future, when he returns from holidaying in Dubai.
