Coyne To Move ‘Sooner Rather Than Later’

COLCHESTER UNITED defender Chris Coyne has revealed he would like to return to Australia in the near future.

The U’s club captain has struggled to establish himself in Paul Lambert’s side this season, due to injuries and international commitments. The former Luton town man has spoke regularly of his desire to return to his homeland.

The 30-year-old centre half told tribalfootball.com: ‘I’ve always wanted to come back and play in the A-League because I left home at such a young age.

‘Obviously being a Perth boy I’d love to come home and play for Perth.’

Despite saying he would like to return down-under ‘sooner rather than later,’ Coyne refused to say exactly when.

He admitted: ‘It could be six weeks, or six months or six years, but I’ve got a box to tick and it’s something I’d like to do sooner rather than later.’

Coyne is currently on duty with the Socceroos at present, ready for Wednesday’s game with Uzbekistan, missing three U’s games in the process.
