Despite being delighted by yesterday`s narrow win, Aidy Boothroyd warned he will drop players should they become distracted by an exiting F.A. Cup run.
Winning 1-0 thanks to Jon-Joe O`Toole`s late strike, means the U`s enter today`s Third Round draw as ball number 47 today, in for the first time this season with top-flight sides.
But Boothroyd insisted his thoughts are already firmly fixed on the next league game, on Tuesday night against local rivals Brentford.
He told the BBC: “I`ve been fortunate to have been on a Cup run before, and got to the semi-finals – it can be brilliant for your season. But the thing is, it must not take away from what is the priority, to finish as high as we can in the league.
“I won`t be afraid. If I see one or two players taking their eye off the back and thinking about the next round then I won`t play them. I have made that very clear.”
The team has been warned!
So what do you think?
