Cup Poll Result: U`s Lot Were Wrong!

Yesterday`s Vital Colchester poll result on the U`s Cup prospect was almost a kiss-of-death – although before you blame us, we had nothing to do with Leyton Orient winning…

If anyone’s to blame, it’s you the voter!

Then again, snap opinions are always about as reliable as betting odds. But which I mean not very reliable at all.

Maybe those really in the smart money kept it in their pockets. There were quite a few thousand stay-aways, by the look of the low 3,308 attendance.

Following the weekend`s astounding 7-1 win against Norwich, this poll’s vote fell in Colchester`s favour for a win, although almost as many tipping Williams` men for vicotry also predicted that the fixture might be a non-event.

So mayvbe the great surfing pblic are better informed than Vital U’s has been making out.

Perhaps the only – and we`ve been through it with a fine-toothed comb in our match report – noteworrthy happening, in the end, was a frustrating dismissal for U’s striker, Clive Platt.

Other than that, which has consequestes as he now faces a three-game suspension, it’s one for the statos amoung you: Colchester have now failed to win in the initial round of the League Cup since beating Cheltenham 2004.

  • What the poll asked What does the League Cup First Round tie against Leyton Orient mean

  • How you voted – Nothing. It’ll Be All Second-string & A Bore!, 14%, That Geraint Williams` Men Are On For A Win, 20%, Victory For The U’s, 62% and finally, Close Call,4%.

Before we move on what are your thoughts on what the last poll concluded? You know what to do, thoughts below please guys…
