Colchester striker Jamie Cureton is in great form on the field, and now off, this is what he had to say following his sides 6th successive home win, after defeating leaders Cardiff City.

“That sends out a message that we are here to stay and not just here to make the numbers up.

“We were tipped to go down and our main target was to stay in this division. Anything else is a bonus.

“We won`t suddenly change our targets to make the play-offs. Not that we will turn it down, we just don`t want to get carried away.

“We probably wouldn`t be allowed in the Premiership anyway! I can`t imagine they would let the likes of Manchester United and Chelsea come here. The ground would fit in the back gardens of some of their players.

“There is hot water in the away changing room but it probably runs out after a few showers. Even ours are not always great.

“Look around, it`s not a great place for opposition teams to come. The changing rooms are as small as you like. Some clubs would have problems fitting their backroom staff in them, let alone the team.

“It`s a tight ground and the atmosphere is great. We know if we get at teams it can knock them off their stride. There are no superstars here, we all just pull in the right direction.”
