Jamie Cureton could cross paths with Colchester United in League One next season after Norwich were relegated today.
They lost 4-2 to Charlton, confirming their demotion from the Championship against a side managed by former manager Phil Parkinson.
It comes a year after Jamie Cureton`s hat-trick against the U`s virtually ended any hope of Colchester surviving in 2007/8.
The striker spent this afternoon on the bench.
He has had an abysmal season, first being shunned by former manager Glen Roeder and then succumbing to a succession of injuries. During his lengthy period without football, he was linked with a return to Essex.
The former Championship top-scorer with Colchester will probably now be seen again in City colours.

The poison dwarf is back then – we await his return to the County Ground – and will give him the reception he deserves.
No reception then? I suppose that means, if everone is booing him, then he must be a good player!
Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah!
Exactly, mate, exactly! Down they go…
Good, look forward to facing them next season.
Do you think he will be there next eason?
he could well score a hatful at league 1 level but I can’t help[ but think he will be shown the door at Carrow Road as i’m pretty sure his contract is expiring and Norwich will certainly need to cut the budget.
Maybe he will get offered a new deal because of his ex-team-mate Barry Gunn being in charge and his love of the clyb. He will obviously take a pay-cut….
Well he aint been playing under Gunn lately, so doubt he’ll be there if Gunn is there next season. Reckon he is out of contract. Would you want him back here?
If he wants to play for Colchester United, then sure, but it would have to be on a short-term deal to kerp him hungry. I’m sure there are better strikers and the way he walked out on the club, and what he said about thee U’s when he left, was a disgrace!
Anpther message board says Curo has between six-months and a year left on his contract. Either January or June, it is up in, according to the grape vine!
Options for extentions, or something like that?
Well, when he left I would doubt he would have been offered more than a two year deal at Norwich but you’ve done you research! lol
Origional deal was a two-year, with option for a third.
Well, cant see that option being taken up so reckon he will leave.
I disagree, He will take lower wages and stay. And he will score tons!!!
