Popular former Colchester United, Bradford and Bolton goalie, Aidan Davison, is the new reserve-team manager with Hull City.

He has been appointed having known boss Phil Brown from their time at Bolton. The former U`s stopper was one of Phil Parkinson`s first signings before the play-off and cup-run dynasty of 2005-2006 sealed an unlikely promotion to the Championship.

Since his retirement, Davison has been coaching in Florida, USA, presumably much to the pleasure of his wife who had been asking him to confirm his retirement for many years until he finally quit in 2008.

Davison was player-coach with the Essex side in his final season, and tipper close friend and one-time teammate Dean Gerken, to one day play for England.

Davison himself was on the fringes of international fane as a player and appeared three times, including against Germany, for his country.

He also plyaed for Millwall, Hull and Grimsby Town.

Will Davison work well at Hull?
