Dean Gerken has been linked with a £500,000 move to Premiership side West Ham United.
A report in today’s EADT claims Hammers’ boss Alan Curbishley is mulling over a summer swoop for the highly-rated U’s stopper.
Although Gerken signed a new long-term deal just under a year ago, it is thought that there is a release clause worth around half a million pounds in it.
Gerken has been in fine form since taking over the number one shirt, from Aiden Davison, last season, despite not keeping a clean sheet since August.
With the U’s set to be playing League One football next season the U’s keeper may be keen on a move away.
