Defiance Over: Lambert Calls Time On Campaign

Boss Paul Lambert has finally called time on Colchester United`s season.

The side surrendered all vague play-off hopes after yesterday`s narrow loss to Leeds United.

Even the record-breaking crowd for their new stadium, of 9,559, could not help the U`s to victory.

At full-time the Scot told the BBC that his current squad had “fallen short” of the consistency needed to crack that all-important top-six zone.

Comments on this club message board have reflected that yesterday`s game was flat.

It perhaps apt that Lambert has now given up finally his admirable stance that Colchester could have pushed their season beyond the regular 46 match-run.

So, what changes need to be made for next season?

Now lets have a look at the fringe players in the next few gamea and Vincent to see if a permanent move would be good. Would be nice to see the boy Corcoran have a couple of run outs as it looks like he will be offered a pro contract for next year

Would like to see Ifil and White play some games, every time I see Maybury play lately he seems worse and worse. Would much rather have White at RB. Yep, Corocan seems like he is highly-regarded by Lambert, would like to see him and Woody get some time on the pitch as well. Also Elito should be given a chance to show what he can do. Up the U’s!
