As expected Colchester legend Karl Duguid has pulled his boots on again and come out of retirement.

Having retired as a player at the end of last season Duguid took up a role with the youth team, although he last week left that position having revealed that he had been unsure for sometime if he wished to carry on in that capacity at this stage.

Duguid admitted that he missed playing and had been given the opportunity by a couple of teams to come out of retirement.

This is something he wanted to do and he signed for Stanway Rovers last week.

36-year-old Duguid is a long-term friend of Stanway boss Angelo Harrop, from their youth team days with the U’s, and has agreed a deal with the Thurlow Nunn League outfit until the end of the season.
