Caretaker boss Joe Dunne has moved to bring in Paul Clark for assistance during his time in charge.

Dunne, who guided the U’s to a 2-1 win over Gillingham on Tuesday night, is currently in temporary charge following the shock departure of Paul Lambert.

Dunne has been with the U’s for over 10 years in a variety of positions and I am sure I’m not alone in hoping he adds to his fine start as caretaker manager.

And Clark, who has been drafted in by Dunne, is someone the Irishman admitted he can ‘trust’.

Speaking to the official website, Dunne revealed: ‘Paul is someone I really trust, having played alongside him during my time at Gillingham.

Clark and Dunne will be joined in the U’s dugout by veteran player-coach Gary Holt, with today’s tough trip to MK Dons next up.

“He was available to help me out and will be sitting on the bench with myself and Gary Holt to get the team ready for the upcoming games,” he added.
