Scoring a goal is a good feeling, once you do it you want to keep doing it so Craig Eastmond is no different.

The Colchester midfielder scored the winner for us against Yeovil last weekend and he’s now told the Gazette that he’s looking to score a little more often now, with his goalscoring ability certainly something that he wants to improve.

Getting ‘in those kinds of positions’ like he did against Yeovil, in our one-nil win, is something he’s looking to do more often now but not only does he want to get into those positions he wants to take them too.

He said: ‘You always set targets to get goals and a midfielder should do that, as well as get forward and get back.

‘It was a good little goal (against Yeovil) and hopefully I can now push on and get a few more.

‘Every goal is crucial for me, especially when it turns out to be a winner.

‘When I get in those kind of positions, I need to take my chances. Hopefully that’s an area in my game I can improve.’

You could say that Eastmond is a ‘lucky charm’ for the U’s as we’ve never lost a game that the 24-year-old has scored in, which has happened seven times since he first came to the WHCS in a loan capacity from Arsenal to begin with.

From the six games that he’s scored in we’ve gone on to win five of them, drawing the other.
