To ensure Geraint Williams has not had to partake a load of dodgy promotional work for nothing, start texting unique codes – found on special packs of Coca-Cola – and you could buy Colchester a player.

Williams, whose chirpy tones can be heard on the local commercial radio, where he is appealing for those in Britain`s oldest recorded town to drink as much Coke as possible, also appeared in yesterday night`s Evening Gazette holding a can of Coke.

The promotion, probably aimed at revving the fortunes of the company at a time when soft drinks are going out of fashion, involves sending the number of each code, which has a value of between 50p and £10,000.

However much is raised – and Colchester currently have raised £2,670 – will go directly to the U`s transfer fund. The promotion ends on April 25th, 2007, so get drinking!
