Elliott Hewitt’s loan with Colchester has been extended by another month.

The Ipswich loanee, who is in his second spell with us this season after previously heading back to Portman Road to help with some injury concerns that the Championship outfit had, has pleased boss Tony Humes with him praising him with what he said to BBC Essex.

With him improving all the time he will do more of this with Humes happy to have this with us.

He said: ‘We’ve been pleased with Elliott.

‘He still has a lot of learning to do but he’s improving the defensive side of his game week by week.’

He 20-year-old ahead of the weekend had so far made eight appearances, over that two loan spells, with him playing a more ‘advanced’ role something that Humes is thinking of trying with him given that he’s such an ‘attack-minded player.’

The loan extension was officially confirmed on Friday.
