Colchester United are anticipating a possible plum-tie in Sunday`s F.A. Cup Third Round draw.

It is the first time since the U`s have reached this stage of the competition since enjoying a fantastic run, ended by Chelsea, in the 2005/6 season.

Now, however, boss Aidy Boothroyd is hoping to harness his experience of navigating to the latter stages of the knockouts with Watford to continue the club`s proud tradition of giant-killings.

Reacting to the last-gasp win 1-0 over Hereford yesterday, Boothroyd told the BBC: “I`m delighted that we won this, it was no easy game. My mind was turning to a replay but we were by far the better side. I was pleased with our professionalism.”

The U`s are number 47 in today`s draw.
