Four goals in the final half an hour ensured that Colchester took their place in round 2 of the FA cup at Crewe’s expense.

Crewe were on course for an upset when Moore (19) gave them an early lead, but then the visitors were reduced to 10-men when Westwood (21) saw red.

The visitors held out until the hour but then James (60) brought Colchester level. Bond (77) and Coker (87) added further goals with another from James (90+2) in injury-time to secure a 4-1 win.
