Have you had enough of Colchester United yet? We haven`t, so here`s the conclusive rundown of our week-long countdown that began last Sunday.
Sunday – The week began with the top 5 Homegrown U`s. Karl Duguid, skipper for eight of his twelve U`s years was chosen as number one! Click here to see the rest.
Monday – Last season`s top five goals, which where all away from home as fate would have it, was our next feature. A cracker from Mark Yeates against Leeds United won the day. Click here to see that countdown.
Tuesday – Vital spent today picking out the top best videos online of the club, selecting Colchester`s Championship demolition of now Premiership side Hull in 2006 as top banana. View them all here.
Wednesday – Today`s featured five were top five wastes of money; since Mark Kinsella and Adrian Coote had been the most expensive sold and bought players at the club for years, it`s no surprise that the fairly huge signings of Geriant Williams` Championship era was chosen. Luckless Phil Ifil was the dubious winner here.
Thursday – With speculation rife that Mark Yeates was indeed finally quitting the club, nostalgia swilled the Vital pages as we counted down his top-five goals for the club. See which strike made it top of the list here.
Friday – No rundown of Colchester United merit would be complete without a look at their biggest F.A. Cup upsets, as the U`s have established a giant-killer reputation. The famous Granddad`s Army 3-2 win over Leeds in 1971 unsurprisingly tops the list here.
Saturday – Europe? No! The Final Countdown day was of local rivalries, picking out the club`s most feared rivals for your viewing pleasure! Click here to view.
Special thanks to my hard-working co-editor, StevieG Col U, for humouring my enthusiasm for the features and producing some great material this week! Hope you have enjoyed our efforts.
