The Weston Homes Community Stadium crowd are likely to give ex-Colchester United manager Paul Lambert a ‘special’ reception later today – something the Scotsman is expecting!
Despite thumping the recently-relegated Norwich City 7-1 on the opening day of the season, Lambert was quick to uproot and move to Carrow Road 10 days later without a moments thought. And this afternoon Lambert – and his Canaries – makes his first visit to North Essex since departing last August.
‘I know what it’s like and I know what to expect,’ Lambert told The Daily Gazette.
Lambert, who many U’s fans hold strong feelings against, for the manner of his exit, admitted he is unlikely to be a popular man.
He added: ‘I’m not going to be the most well-liked man in Colchester, that’s for sure.’
