New signing from Blackpool, David Fox, is ready to flight for his place with the U`s this season.

It looks like Fox, who joined on a free at the start of this month, will become Johnnie Jackson`s hire in midfield following his recent transfer request, click here.

Fox, who has already found the back of the net for Colchester in a low-profile friendly, was recruited by U’s manager Paul Lambert as a creative force and has impressed the boss with his on-the-ball composure.

“I`ve settled in really well and I`m enjoying it,” Fox told Dream 100 FM earlier this week on U`s Live, a new radio show. This site has been following the show with a live Blogcast, available to review here.

Fox added: “I`m getting to know the boys better. From a personal point of view, I was delighted to score in Germany, There`s more to come from the boys and it`s my job to fit into my role as well as I can.”

Think it could be a tidy bit of business signing him. Up the U’s!

I hope so but i’d rather have him AND JJ than one or other. Not sure that Holt should be factored in to fight for midfield places either- i dont think he’ll push the lads to work any harder!!!
