U’s legend, I think its fair to say he is and former Man United youngster who had a good spell with Norwich too, David Fox has fixed himself up with a new club having signed for Crewe.

Fox returned to the Weston Homes Community Stadium last season, after a few short-term deals were extended he ended up staying with Colchester for most of the season with his 33 appearances, and two-goals, helping to keep us in League 1.

It would have been expected, having captained the side, Fox would stay at the WHCS this coming season to act as an experienced mentor to others but a deal wasn’t agreed and he became a free agent.

After a trial with Crewe his signing has been confirmed by Steve Davis, who told the BBC.

‘Foxy’s been brilliant – he’s got a great attitude and he brings great experience to a young team.’

That pretty much sums up Fox doesn’t it!

Our loss of the 31-year-old will be Crewe’s gain but players do come and go so Fox isn’t any different and we have, in all fairness, seen Tony Humes make some positive moves this summer so far haven’t we but good luck to him, until we meet Crewe this season….
