Game Biggest of Season: Williams

Colchester United manger Geraint Williams has labelled tomorrow`s game against Sheffield Wednesday as the U`s ‘biggest` of the season.

The U`s face fellow strugglers Wednesday knowing that three points are vital, if the U`s are going to make a late push for survival. The Layer Road based club are nine points from safety, with just ten games until the season reaches its climax.

Speaking to BBC Essex, Williams said: ‘You’ve got to help yourself and we’ve got to make sure we go out on Tuesday in what is the biggest game of the season for us.’

The U’s face three home games in seven days, knowing that they need to haul themselves up the table: ‘We’ve got to go and win that and if we win that we’ve got two more home matches to come – so we’ll take it from there, but all our thoughts now are on Tuesday.’

‘Hopefully there’ll be a full Layer Road crowd with a fantastic atmosphere; we’ve got to go out and do what we did against Preston – get at them and go and win the game.’ He explained.
