Colchester United`s Danny Granville has admitted taking immense enjoyment from playing in an unorthodox wing position in the absence of Kevin McLeod.
The 32-year-old former Leeds, Chelsea and Crystal Palace man, normally deployed as a full back in defence, claimed in today`s EADT that he was happy to occupy that role after falling behind George Elokobi in completion for a staring birth among the back four.
“I’m enjoying playing on the left wing. It’s not completely new to me, because I played there many seasons ago when I was at Cambridge United,” he told the EADT.
He said: “I’m just glad to be in the side, after a frustrating start to the season. I was struggling for fitness at the time. But it’s looking good for the club now.’
