They became only the second unsigned band in history to make the top 40 singles chart in January. But now, with your help, Colchester band Koopa want to do it again this Sunday.

The trio of Joe Murphy and brothers Oli and Stu Copper will release One Off, a song which should break into the charts guaranteed if 1,000 more copies are sold, according to the local paper.

The band, who do all their own promotional work and have a very popular MySpace webpage, recorded a single at 31 earlier this year. Since, they have featured on the official Colchester United special duets single, a disk which released the club`s ‘Up the U`s!` terraced anthem in memory of cancer victim and avid fan, Emily Begg.

The band also record their catchy riffs on many Colchester United match highlight DVDs, and of the bid to break into this weekend`s chart, the band`s manager said: “We really need people to go out there and buy the record.”

He said in the Colchester Evening Gazette: “It`s available in HMV in both Colchester and Chelmsford and obviously you can download it as well.

“This is a bit of a plea to everyone, even those who don`t like us. Please go out and buy it, if only to stick it to the record labels.”
