Colchester are in discussions with West Ham with a view to extending on loan striker Hogan Ephraim’s spell at Layer Road.
The teenager is yet to score for Colchester since joining in November but has been limited to substitute appearances.
Manager Geraint Williams told BBC Essex: ‘He’s a bubbly character with loads of ability and he’s exactly what we like at this club.
‘We’d love him to stay, we’re in talks. Hopefully we can sort something out.’
