Injury Agony Keeps Beevers Out Of Leeds Clash

Colchester United full-back Lee Beevers looks certain to miss the League One clash with Leeds United.

The summer acquisition from Lincoln City dislocated his shoulder in the U’s 2-1 defeat to MK Dons and had to visit a hospital to have it put back in. Ouch.

And now the versatile defender is anxiously awaiting results of a number of scans which have took place.

‘When I ran on, I wasn’t sure what the damage was going to be but at the time of the collision, it didn’t look too serious,’ physio Tony Flynn told the club’s official website.

Flynn concluded that more will known early next week, he added: ‘We are awaiting results on the scans Lee has had and early next week, we will see a consultant to see if an operation is needed or strengthening work will do the trick.’

The news means that Irishman Alan Maybury is likely to start on the right-side of the U’s defence at the Community Stadium, against the Whites.
