Not for the first time, but will it be the last, Elliott Hewitt has extended his loan with Colchester.

This extension, for another month, was confirmed on the Official Website this week with Tony Humes obviously pleased that his parent club Ipswich had agreed to this.

A three-match ban recently, following a sending off, had seen him missed and Humes conceded that fact and lauded his versatility as he’s played at full back and on the right side of midfield for us this season.

‘Elliott has done very well for us and gives us a different option.

‘I think we missed him when he was out suspended and he has been great since he’s been back, including two assists in Saturday’s win against Bristol City.’

I believe you’re only allowed to extend one-month loans to a maximum of three-months aren’t you? This must take Hewitt to his maximum….
