Geraint Williams thinks his plucky Colchester side earnt their hard-fought victory against West Brom through sheer force of character.
The Welshman praised his side`s ability to rise to the big occasion for what was only a second home win of the season.
He said: “It was a great game to watch but only because we won, if we hadn`t then I`d have been a bit disappointed.
“When we went to watch West Brom at QPR they tore them apart and it was a challenge for us but the lads rose to it,” Williams told BBC Essex.
“We`ve got to tighten up at the back but West Brom are the best footballing side in the division,” added Williams who went on to call Mark Yeates` free-kick “the best” he had ever seen from the prolific Irishman.
