Th U’s newest recruit John-Joe O’Toole has spoke of how he is ‘looking forward to the challenge’ after penning a four-month loan deal.

Shortly after Colchester United unveiled their new manager, Aidy Boothroyd, news broke that a move for the box-to-box midfielder was rubber-stamped yesterday. Vital U’s was quick to cover this, click here.

Speaking to the club’s official website, O’Toole, a Republic Of Ireland U21 international, explained: ‘It gives me a chance to get playing again and get back out on the pitch to do my thing.

At the tender age of just 20, O’Toole has enjoyed mixed spells, but is keen to ‘get up and running again.’

He concluded: ‘Colchester have a fantastic stadium and I am really impressed. It has been frustrating not playing, but this will be a great place to get up and running again.’

    He seemed a bit windswept in that interview, but anyway very good move for us. Audy bringing quality already and in my opinion, he’s better than the man he will basically replace, Dean Hammond!
