Kevin Watson played for an hour in the reserves friendly on Tuesday as he makes his comeback from injury.
It was his first taste of football since October when he was withdrawn at Coventry City with a calf injury.
The U’s ran out 2-0 winners against Grays Athletic at Essex University with Dave Wareham and Craig Hughes grabbing the goals.
