Lambert Fined, Fans Banned & U`s On Compo Claim

Paul Lambert was last week fined £750 and warned about his future conduct within the same 24-hour period as two Norwich fans received indefinite bans from attending Carrow Road.

This delayed fallout from the season`s opening game between Colchester United and Norwich City in Norfolk also prompted the U`s to reaffirm their stubbornness over compensation for Lambert.

The former Colchester manager, offered City`s job inside seven days of co-ordinating their record 7-1 defeat, was reprimanded by the Football Association last Tuesday for a tirade against an official in his last game at United. That incident, against Yeovil, came just hours before Norwich contacted U`s Chairman, Robbie Cowling, to ask permission to instantly appoint the Scott.

On Wednesday, Colchester held a press conference to unveil former City youth coach and Premier League manager, Aidy Boothroyd as Lambert`s replacement.

Cowling and club Chief Executive, Steve Bradshaw, confirmed before Vital Colchester and others in the assembled media, that negotiations regarding compensation over Lambert still look set for a tribunal.

Meanwhile, those Norwich season-ticket holders, Mark and Daniel Warman, who ventured on to the pitch in sheer ire during their side`s capitulation last month, are currently forbidden from attending future home games. The pair breached club security rules and caused City undue financial loss.
